Dear students,
Please paraphrase your answers. This applies to your weekly activities as well as your portfolios. There is no learning if you just copy paste from transcripts or the Internet. Students who did so - even once - got no marks for their portfolio.

PS. Next trimester I would like to ban your access to the TED Talks transcripts - because we are not a reading and writing class. You may listen to the presentations with English or Japanese subtitles to help you process the information in real time, and that will help your learning, but taking a short cut to read the speech won't help you master English lisetning in the long run.
For your portfolios, too, it will be wiser to take the slower route to acquire aural English by not reading the transcript.
